With "beautiful" Rocky Mountain views from its 16 acres, this hotel stands within walking distance of the University of Colorado and the Twenty-Ninth Street Mall, but reviewers find the accommodations "past their prime"; where kids love the "pool with a water fountain and huge hot tub", adults see "multiple stains on public area carpets" and one warns "check for cleanliness before you unpack"; service fluctuates between "professional" and "lazy."

Location, spacious warm room, and nice view.
Hard pillows and rude guests.

We enjoyed our stay (except for the hard pillows). It is older and has been passed between several hotel corporations over the years, and its structure allows noise to transmit into rooms, but the problem is not the hotel, it is people who stay there and have no consideration for others, making noise at all hours of the night. If you are one of them, get a clue or stay home. It is appropriately a 3 star hotel. ...read more

Price was great for a three star hotel. Staff recommended fantastic place to eat.
Didn't meet expectations of a three star. Exterior of hotel was disappointing. Not as shown on website.

A good value, but not worthy of a three star. The lobby smells strongly of chlorine and bleach from the pool. Exterior of hotel was less than impressive. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was clean, and ultimately that's the most important. ...read more

Lobby and public spaces.
Old hotel, thin walls and rooms need a refurbishment.

Hotel needs a major upgrade i.e. TVs, hallways smelled, exercise equipment only half of equipment worked, and overall the place is dated.

This hotel looks much better on the inside than the first impression of the outside portrays.
The internet was down for most of the visit and that severely impacted my business.

Close to many shops, restaurants etc.

Comfortable bed.
Staff can be rude, terrible housekeeping service, had to bring luggage in ourselves.

The TV was really old and the hotel charged for everything. We stayed for 5 nights and had to call everyday to get our room cleaned. We added on two extra nights and when we checked in the staff said that they would take care of everything so we didn't have to come down to check in again. They had forgotten and we had to call down to the front desk to remind them that we weren't checking out for another 2 days. Terrible service. ...read more

Hotel is getting a little older.

Both indoor and outdoor pools were nice. Tennis courts onsite, both indoor and outdoor as well.
